Let \(G\) be a \(p\)-adic group (not necessarily split) of one of the following types: \(\text{SO}(2n+1,F)\), \(\text{Sp}(2n,F)\), \(\text{O}(2n,F)\), \(\text{U}(n,E/F)\). The purpose of the paper is the parametrisation of the discrete series of \(G\) by combinatorial data. These data are defined in the paper, they correspond to the Langlands parameters, which consist of: a morphism of the Weil group \(W_F\) into the \(L\)-group \({}^L G\) and a character of the centralizer of the image of that morphism. The object corresponding to the morphism of \(W_F\) into \({}^L G\) is defined for any discrete series representation, but the object corresponding to the character is defined only partially. This makes it necessary to include the cuspidal support in the data. Under a hypothesis concerning the reducibility of representations induced from cuspidal representations it is proved that the data so defined characterize the representation. Bijectivity between the discrete series and the set of possible data is proved in \textit{C. Moeglin, M. Tadić} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 15, 715-786 (2002; Zbl 0992.22015)]. There are many misprints in the text.
