The generalized Lambert transform, introduced and studied by R. R. Goldberg, studied over the space \({\mathcal E}'((0,\infty))\) of distributions of compact support. Two propositions, one of them being the analyticity and the second establishing the connection between the generalized Lambert transform and the distributional Laplace transform, are given for a function in the space \({\mathcal E}'((0,\infty))\). The main result of the paper is the inversion formula for the generalized Lambert transform over \({\mathcal E}' ((0, \infty))\), the uniqueness in proved too. However, one may refer to the papers of \textit{R. R. Goldberg} [Duke Math. J. 25, 459-476 (1958; Zbl 0081.32601), and Pac. J. Math. 8, 213-217 (1958; Zbl 0084.09701)] for a better comprehension of this paper.
