A \(d\)-dimensional voter model, \(d\geq 3\), is considered. The large scale limit of the equilibrium state is studied with the help of the historical process. Some surprising facts about the Green function of random walks in dimension \(d\geq 4\) are established, which lead to the different features in \(d=3\) versus \(d\geq 4\). An analogous result for the voter model on the hierarchical group is proved.
