Here the author continues with his study of the degree of approximation to functions of bounded variations by Meyer-König and Zeller operators and the Bézier variant of these operators. In this paper he gives a theorem that estimates the rates of convergence for the Bézier variant of the operators by means of the decomposition technique of functions of bounded variations. Herein the author also points out some flaws in a work of \textit{X. M. Zeng} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 219, 364--376 (1998; Zbl 0909.41015)]. One special case of the Theorem of the paper gives the correct estimate on the rate of convergence for the operators studied by X. M. Zeng.
