This paper studies modules of down-up algebras \(A\) that are defined over fields of prime characteristic. It starts with the Verma modules and determines when they split into a finite number of infinite-dimensional weight spaces and when they split into an infinite number of one-dimensional spaces. As a consequence, all finite-dimensional irreducible homomorphic images of Verma modules are classified. Furthermore, if the ground field is algebraically closed, then all finite-dimensional irreducible \(A\)-modules are precisely described.
