The author investigates finite subspaces of orderings of the ring of regular functions on an algebraic set \(V\) and compares them with those of the ring of analytic function germs at a point of \(V\). He proves that two semialgebraic subsets \(A\) and \(B\) in a real affine algebraic set \(X\) are generically separable by a regular function if and only if in the birational model of \(X\) made by contracting the union of their borders to a point \(a\), their germs at \(a\) are generically separable by an analytic function germ. The paper is very well written and contains a detailed introduction to the theory of constructible sets in real geometry.
