This paper is concerned with the derivation of bounds for the effective conductivity, dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability of a heterogeneous medium which is assumed to be isotropic on the macroscopic scale, using the homogenization technique. These bounds depend on the concentration of phases as well as on the geometry of the medium, which is assumed to be locally periodic. Some special cases are considered and the corresponding findings are compared with the existing results.
