Uno's conjecture [see \textit{K. Uno}, Osaka J. Math. 41, No. 1, 11-36 (2004; Zbl 1057.20005)] is a refinement of both Dade's conjecture and the Isaacs-Navarro conjecture, and relates detailed information about character degrees of a group and some of its \(p\)-local subgroups via an alternating-sum formula. In this paper the author extends his earlier work [see \textit{J. An}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 353, No. 1, 365-390 (2001; Zbl 0976.20006)] verifying the Dade conjecture for general linear and unitary groups in the case when \(p\) is not the defining characteristic of the group, to cover the extra information required to verify this more general conjecture in these cases.
