This paper represents an original research report regarding minimal surfaces in quasi-Fuchsian 3-manifolds. Namely, the author presents a sufficient condition regarding the complex length of a closed geodesic in a quasi-Fuchsian 3-manifold which insures the existence of (at least) two incompressible minimal surfaces near this geodesic. In order to present the proof of this result, the author presents in a few sections several building blocks and tools, such as: tubes of short geodesics; helicoids in \(\mathbb H^3\); co-area formula; shrinkwrapping. Each of these sections is actually interesting in itself. The reviewer finds the paper of excellent quality and true originality.
