Square \(n \times n\) matrices with entries in an algebraically closed field are investigated. The authors study problems concerning eigenvalues, ranks and nonconstant invariant polynomials of matrices obtained recursively by means of multiplicative commutators (Section 2) or of the Jordan product (Section 3). Essentially the purpose is to state for multiplicative commutators and for Jordan products results which are similar to some results already obtained for additive commutators by the same authors and also by others.
