Zeta function and regularized determinant on a disc and on a cone (Q557178): Difference between revisions

Regularized determinants of elliptic operators are used to define secondary invariants in topology. They also show up prominently in number theory. Their analytic theory is well established, but only few cases have been computed explicitly so far. In this paper an explicit expression for the analytic continuation of the zeta function of the Laplacian on a two dimensional cone is given (with Dirichlet boundary conditions). This then yields an explicit formula for the determinant of this Laplacian.
