Dickson polynomials provide a class of permutation polynomials. The authors present a class of permutation polynomials over the field of \(2^m\) elements \(\mathbb F_{2^m}\), which are intimately related to Dickson polynomials. Their main theorem provides necessary and sufficient criteria for such polynomials to be permutation polynomials in terms of congruences modulo \(2\) involving \(m\) and other fixed integers.
