The authors consider time discretization for the Navier-Stokes equations for a flow of a compressible Newtonian fluid in a bounded domain. Pressure depends on density: \(p=\rho^\gamma\). Existence of a weak solution is proved for \(\gamma\geq 1\). The tools are compactness theory in functional spaces, embedding theorems, and functional estimates.
