    In dem zusammen mit \textit{R. S. Rivlin} verfaßten ersten Teil dieser Arbeit [Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 9, 45--63 (1962; Zbl 0118.25803)] hatte Verf. eine Liste von Invarianten symmetrischer (und anti-symmetrischer) dreidimensionaler Matrizen gegenüber orthogonalen Transformationen aufgestellt, welche er für eine Integritätsbasis der Invarianten gegenüber der vollen orthogonalen Gruppe hielt. G. F. Smith teilte dem Verf. jedoch mit, daß es sich nur um eine Integritätsbasis in bezug auf die eigentliche orthogonale Gruppe handle. Im vorliegenden zweiten Teil der Arbeit wird eine Minimalbasis angegeben.
