Distribution of eigenvalues of systems of the form \(Au=tBu\) (Q789690): Difference between revisions

In this paper the asymptotic behaviour of eigenvalue distribution functions \(N_{\pm}(t)\) of the positive and the negative spectrum for the system \[ Au=tBu \] is investigated. Here \(A=a_ w\) is a selfadjoint, \(B=b_ w\) is a symmetric differential operator with a domain \(D\subseteq L_ 2(\Omega)^ m (\Omega\) an open set in \(R^ n)\), B is compact with respect to A, and a,b are the Weyl symbols [see \textit{L. Hörmander}, Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 32, 359-443 (1979; Zbl 0388.47032)]. The method used in this paper is the method of approximative spectral projection [see \textit{V. N. Tulovskij} and \textit{M. A. Shubin}, Mat. Sb., Nov. Ser. 92 (134), 571-588 (1973; Zbl 0286.35059)]. No proofs are provided.
