In this paper we study proper morphism between algebraic varieties over a real closed ground field in two different settings. First, we use the notion of semi-integral extensions to define semi-integral morphisms which turn out to be the analogous (if we work in the family of semialgebraic subsets of proper maps. Afterwards we use the language of real spectra to give an approach to proper morphisms as it is done classically in schemes over algebraically closed ground fields.
