    Let \(G\) be a finite group of order \(| G|\), \(K\) a field. Denote by \(a(KG)\) the commutative ring generated by all \(K\)-free finitely generated \(KG\)-modules, \(A_ q(KG)=F_ q\otimes_{{\mathbb{Z}}}a(KG)\) where \(F_ q\) is a field of characteristic \(q\geq 0\). Obviously \(A_ q(KG)\) has a basis of indecomposable \(KG\)-modules. Let \(B_ q(KG)\) be the subring of \(A_ q(KG)\) generated by irreducible \(KG\)-modules. Let \({\mathbb{Z}}_ p\) be the ring of rational \(p\)-adic integers. The authors investigate \(B_ q({\mathbb{Z}}_ pG)\) when \(G\) contains a normal cyclic Sylow \(p\)-subgroup. They prove that in this case \(\dim_{F_ q}B_ q({\mathbb{Z}}_ pG)<\infty.\) They obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for semi-simplicity of \(B_ q({\mathbb{Z}}_ pG)\).
