The author has given a theory for non-dilute suspensions of particles based on a mixture of n classical continua and using ideas of statistical mechanics. It has been shown that a material point of the mixture can be represented as a single averaged body in a motion which consists of translation of its mass center, a rotation about this mass center and a homogeneous deformation. Such a body requires for its specification four vector fields and is defined as a generalized or oriented continuum.
