    [For part I see the paper reviewed above.] For a class of infinite dimensional systems some basic facts of center manifold theory are described where the emphasis is put on the practical computational aspects, particularly on the approximation of center manifolds. The calculations are illustrated by detailed analyses of two specific problems, a semilinear wave equations and a semilinear parabolic system.
