Consider the equation \((1)LU\equiv - \sum^{n}_{i,j=1}(a_{ij}(x)u_{x_ j})_{x_ i}+u=\epsilon f(x,u,Du,D^ 2u,D^ 3u), x\in {\mathbb{R}}^ n\), L being uniformly elliptic with coefficients periodic in \(x_ 1,x_ 2,...,x_ n\), the function f being also periodic in \(x_ 1,x_ 2,...,x_ n\) with the same periods as the \(a_{ij}\). \(D^ ju\) are derivatives up to order j, \(j=1,2,3\) and \(\epsilon \in {\mathbb{R}}.\) The author establishes the existence of periodic solutions of (1) for small values of \(|\epsilon |\) by using the approach and a theorem of \textit{J. Moser} [Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci. Fis. Mat., III. Ser. 20, 265-315 and 499-535 (1966; Zbl 0144.182)]. The technique is to obtain approximate solutions of (1) by an approximate equation which will be treated, in its turn, by the mean of n elliptic regularization. ''Surprisingly, other than differentiability requirement, no hypotheses are needed concerning the dependence of f on u and its derivatives.''
