This paper is concerned with \(E_ r^{s,t}\), the Adams spectral sequence for the sphere spectrum got from K, where K denotes complex K- theory localised at 2. The main result is a presentation of the bigraded ring \(E_ 2^{**}=H^{**}(K_*(K))\); it is got from \(H^{**}(K_*(K)\otimes {\mathbb{Z}}/2)\) by means of a Bockstein exact sequence. There are also descriptions of the differentials (only \(d_ 3\) is non-trivial), of \(E_{\infty}^{**}\) \((E_{\infty}^{s_*}=0\) except for \(s=0,1,2)\), and of the limit groups \(\pi^ K_*(S^ 0)\).
