The ''state of the art'' of convergence acceleration methods is presented. The period covered is the last 10 years. Different aspects of convergence acceleration methods are discussed in four sections. In the first section elements of the basic theory are presented. Some fundamental theorems are given. The second section is devoted to algorithms for convergence acceleration methods. Practical problems related to the implementation of these algorithms are discussed in the third section. In the last section applications to various subjects of numerical analysis are mentioned. The 86 references given in the paper will be of great value for those interested in a closer study of the subject.
