    In this paper the existence of a unique solution of \[ u_ t- u_{xx}=e^ u,\quad x>0,\quad 0<t<T;\quad u(x,0)=0,\quad x>0;\quad u(0,t)=0,\quad 0\leq t\leq T \] on the semi-infinite strip \(S_ T=[0,\infty)\times [0,T)\) with \(T\leq 1\) is proved and shown, that this solution satisfies the asymptotic condition \[ \lim_{x\to \infty} u(x,t)=-\ln (1-t),\quad t\in (0,1), \] and that \(u_ x>0\), \(u_ t\geq 0\) for all \((x,t)\in S_ T\). First the solution u is constructed as a minimal solution and then it is shown, that u satisfies the asymptotic property.
