An extension of the \(2-((4^{n+1}-1)/3,5,1)\) design consisting of the points and lines of PG(n,4) into a \(3-((4^{n+1}+2)/3,6,1)\) design is constructed. The possibility for extension of this 3-design to a Steiner 4- or 5-design is discussed.
