The classical Perron-Frobenius theorem is generalized to nonlinear situations. Applications to higher order difference equations are given. A comparison with similar generalizations in the literature is incorporated. The authors deal with the case where the underlying cone is not necessarily convex and where the operator is homogeneous only in a weak sense. Computational aspects via the power method are emphasized.
