The definitions of P-limit and P-prolongation set as defined by \textit{S. Elaydi} [ibid. 47, 24-34 (1983; Zbl 0507.54035) and 51, 116-125 (1984; Zbl 0488.58019)] are not well behaved to develop the theory of D- stability and J-stability. The purpose of the paper is to point out this fact and to give correct definitions.
