Let R be the coordinate ring of a normal affine variety X over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic \(\neq 0\). Let K denote the fraction field of R and let \(\Sigma\) be a central simple K-algebra. The subrings \(\Lambda\subset \Sigma\) satisfying: i) \(\text{Cent}(\Lambda)=R\), ii) \(\Lambda\) is a f.g. reflexive R-module, iii) \(\Lambda_ p\) is an Azumaya algebra over the discrete valuation-ring \(R_ p\) for every height one prime p of R, are called reflexive Azumaya algebras. In the same way as the (classical) Azumaya algebras build the Brauer group, reflexive Azumaya algebras build a Brauer group, the reflexive Brauer group, denoted with \(\beta(R)\). In the paper the relation between \(Br(R)\) and \(\beta(R)\) is studied. Considering some examples in dimension 1, 2, 3 the author gives some evidence for the fact that the reflexive Brauer group is related to the Brauer group of the open set of regular points \(X_{reg}\). The author then proves that this is correct at least cohomologically: Theorem. \(\beta(R)\simeq H^ 2_{et}(X_{reg},{\mathbb{G}}_ m)\).
