A set of infinite hierarchies of symmetries and constants of motion for the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation is derived through the newly proposed integrability condition which takes the form \(L_ t=BL-LA\). Moreover, a graded Lie algebra can be constructed for these symmetries and constants of motion and enables us to generate the whole set of symmetries and constants of motion from only three ''seed'' elements.
