Let \((\Omega,\Gamma,\mu)\) be a measure space with positive measure \(\mu\), \(X\) a Banach space, \(L^ p(\Omega,X)\) the space of functions on \(\Omega\) with values in \(X\) whose \(p\)-th power are Bochner integrable, \(1\leq p<\infty\). We prove that (1) The dual space \(L^ p(\Omega,X^*)\) is isometrically isomorphic to \(L^ q(\Omega,X^*)\) if and only if \(X^*\) has the wide RNP, \(1<p<\infty\), \(\frac{1}{p}+\frac{1}{q}=1.\) (2) If \((\Omega,\Gamma,\mu)\) is a \(\sigma\)-finite measure space, then \(L^ 1(\Omega,X)^*\) is isometrically isomorphic to \(L^{\infty}(\Omega,X^*)\) if and only if \(X^*\) has the wide RNP. (3) If \(\Omega\) is a locally compact Hausdorff space with a positive Radon measure \(\mu\). Then \(L^ 1(\Omega,X)^*\) is isometrically isomorphic to \(L^{\infty}_{\ell,a,e}(\Omega,X^*)\), the space of locally bounded almost everywhere \(X^*\)-valued functions on \(\Omega\), if and only if \(X^*\) has the wide Radon Nikodym property. These properties can be applied to characterize the multiplier theorems. See \textit{H. C. Lai}, J. Austr. Math. Soc., Ser. A, 51-62 (1985; Zbl 0579.43006).
