A cold gas is injected from a slot into a free stream of hot gas as is the case in the cooling of engine blades. In a simple model this leads to a two-fluid free boundary problem with a jump relation on the free boundary. The fluids are assumed to be inviscid, irrotational and incompressible. The existence and uniqueness of the solution is proved. Various properties of the solution and of the free boundary are established.
