Let M be a JBW-algebra, P the lattice of projections of M. The author defines a new equivalence relation \(\delta\) on P, such that (P,\(\delta)\) is a dimension lattice, and finiteness with respect to \(\delta\) coincides with modularity. Moreover the whole type decomposition with respect to \(\delta\) remains the usual one given by D. Topping for the case of JW- algebras.
