In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die Methode der bistellaren Operationen auf die Untersuchung geschlossener semilinearer Mannigfaltigkeiten angewandt. Verf. zeigt, daß für diese die Begriffe ``p.l.- homöomorph'' und ``bistellar äquivalent'' gleichwertig sind. Insbesondere kann man jede semilineare simpliziale Sphäre durch bistellare Operationen aus dem Randkomplex eines Simplex gewinnen. Jede simpliziale Sphäre ist daher Randkomplex einer schälbaren simplizialen Sphäre. Dies widerlegt eine bisher kursierende Vermutung. Schließlich wird ein neuer, elementarer Beweis der Dehn-Sommerville- Gleichungen angegeben und werden äquivalente Aussagen zur McMullenschen g-Vermutung aufgestellt.
