Let \({\mathcal C}(1,n-1)\) denote the Clifford algebra arising from the real space \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\) under a form of type \((-+...+)\). The author analyses the metric and the orthogonal group in terms of the involutions of the algebra \({\mathcal C}(1,n-1)\), and he discusses the relation between these algebras and the Pauli algebra \({\mathcal C}({\mathbb{R}}^ 3,+++)\). He also gives a physical interpretation of these relationships.
