The authors obtain an algebraic characterization of \(A\)-stable Runge-Kutta methods similar to that of \(B\)-stable methods. Their results gives the information about the gap between the set of \(A\)- and \(B\)-stable Runge-Kutta methods. They consider several examples to illustrate their results.
