Using the fact that the Burnside ring of an odd-order group becomes a product of \({\mathbb{Z}}_ 2\) factors when reduced mod 2, the splittings of unoriented geometric and homotopical equivariant bordism rings of odd- order groups [\textit{C. Kosniowski}, Actions of finite abelian groups (1978; Zbl 0373.57018), \textit{R. J. Rowlett}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 246, 473-481 (1978; Zbl 0404.57026), \textit{R. E. Stong}, Notes on cobordism theory (1968; Zbl 0181.266)] are (re-)proved in an elegant way. The method gives fairly explicit results.
