This paper deals with boundary eigenvalue problems associated with the linear nth order differential equation \(N(y)=\lambda P(y)\) and polynomially \(\lambda\)-dependant two-point boundary conditions. Under certain smoothness conditions on the coefficients in N(y) and P(y), the author investigates the convergence of the k-times termwise derived eigenfunction expansion of a function f, to \(f^{(k)}\) in the sense of pointwise, uniform and \(L^ p\)-convergence on the interval [0,1]. The author shows that the adequate boundary behaviour of the expanded function is to satisfy asymptotic boundary conditions, which are \(\lambda\)-independent. The approach used relies on asymptotic estimates on the associated Green's function for large absolute values of \(\lambda\).
