The authors discuss a fuzzy linear programming problem with continuous piecewise membership functions. They make use of standard linear programming when the piecewise membership functions are quasi-concave and the minimum operator is adapted for aggregating fuzzy goals. The authors solve the theoretical problems mentioned above without a successive solution of some linear programming problems, as in \textit{E. L. Hannan}'s [ibid. 6, 235-248 (1981; Zbl 0465.90080)] and \textit{K. Nakamura}'s [ibid. 14, 211-229 (1984; Zbl 0552.90063)] method, where the piecewise membership functions are concave.
