For a non-negative square matrix P and its transpose let H, G and A be the entrywise harmonic, geometric and arithmetic means resp. Then for the Perron roots \(\rho\) (H)\(\leq \rho (G)\leq \rho (P)\leq \rho (A)\). The paper focuses upon the characterization of equality in each of the six possible inequalities.
