Let K be a field and C the monomial curve in the affine e-space defined by the equations \(X_ i=T^{m_ i}\), \(i=0,...,e-1\). Then C is set theoretic complete intersection if some e-1 terms among \(m_ 0,...,m_{e-1}\) form an arithmetic progression.
