Let \(E\) be a subset of a Banach space and \(T: E\to E\) such that \[ (*)\;\| Tx-Ty\| \leq k \max \{\| x-y\|,\| x-Tx\|,\| y- Ty\|,\| x-Ty\|,\| y-Tx\| \}, \] for all \(x,y\) in \(E\) and some \(k\in [0,1)\). The author proves an interesting convergence theorem of the sequence of Ishikawa iterates for \(T\) satisfying (*) in a non-compact subset of a Hilbert space.
