Using null coordinates adapted to spherical symmetry and homothety, the authors study graphically naked singularities; these are directly linked to the assumption of homothety and as such, they correspond to shell- crossing singularities; the mass compacted into a given radius is sufficiently small to secure their visibility at comoving infinity. The knowledge of general properties of singularities is assumed [cf. e.g., Tipler et al., in \textit{A. Held} (ed.), General relativity and gravitation, vols. 1, 2. (1980; Zbl 0537.00011)].
