As put briefly by the author, the paper develops a new class of surfaces, based on the concept of Bézier simplices expressed in terms of \textit{R. Sibson}'s natural neighbour coordinates [A brief description of the natural neighbour interpolant. Techn. Rep., Math. Dept., Univ. Bath (1980)]. It is shown that these new surfaces may be utilized for scattered data interpolation. Some interesting properties of Sibson's interpolant, not proved in Sibson's original paper, have been fully expounded in this paper. Also included is a generalization of Sibson's interpolant. Thus, as a whole, this paper may be regarded as a deepening and an extension of Sibson's work.
