The authors obtain a theorem of Vaia-Witten type on uniform bounds for eigenvalues of a family of transversal Dirac operators relative to a Riemannian foliation, the proof of which is based on the concept of spectral flow. The family under consideration is parametrized by a moduli space of basic connections relative to the foliation modulo a suitable group of gauge transformations preserving the foliation.
