In this nice paper, the author studies matrices of abstract differential operators, which are parabolic in the sense of Shilov or correct in the sense of Petrovskij. The author proves that they generate regularized cosine functions with suitable regularizing operators under certain conditions. The main results of the paper are applied to matrices of partial differential operators on many function spaces and also to the well-posedness of the associated second order systems.
