The construction, due to V. Voevodsky, of a triangulated category DM over a field \(k\) can be extended to the case to a noetherian separated scheme \(S\). Then one defines a triangulated category of effective geometrical motives over \(S\), \(\text{DM}^{\text{eff}}_{\text{gm}}(S)\) and, by inverting the Tate motive, a triangulated category of geometrical mixed motives \(\text{DM}_{\text{gm}}(S)\). In this paper the author provides an \(\ell\)-adic realization functor for \(\text{DM}_{\text{gm}}(S)\). By studying the behaviour of mixed motives under projective limits he also derives a moderate version of this realization functor. In the case of mixed motives over a field of characteristic 0 the relization functor constructed here is canonically isomorphic to the \(\ell\)-adic component of the functor constructed by \textit{A. Huber} [J. Algebr. Geom. 13, No. 1, 195--207 (2004; Zbl 1058.14033)].
