The authors deal with the existence and the decaying rate of solutions for the problem \[ -\Delta_p u=\rho(x) f(u)+{\lambda\over|x|^\theta} g(u)\quad\text{in }\mathbb{R}^N, \] \[ u> 0\text{ in }\mathbb{R}^N,\quad u(x)\to 0\text{ as }|x|\to\infty, \] where \(\Delta_p\) is the \(p\)-Laplacian, \(1< p< N\), \(\rho(x): \mathbb{R}^N\to [0,\infty)\) is continuous and not identically zero, \(\lambda\geq 0\) is a parameter, \(0\leq\theta\leq \rho\), \(f,g: [0,\infty)\to [0,\infty)\) are continuous and nondecreasing functions satisfying additional appropriate conditions. To this end the authors use the sub-solutions method as well as variational technique.
