The configuration space over a Riemannian manifold \(M\) is the space of integer-valued measures on \(M\), and it can be equipped with Poisson measures. The authors consider the gradient and iterated gradients on the configuration space, deduce a notion of Sobolev spaces, and prove (under some condition) that the corresponding capacities are tight (there exist compact sets, the complements of which have arbitrarily small capacities). They construct surface measures related to a Poisson measure in the spirit of the Malliavin calculus, and prove a Gauss-Ostrogradskii formula.
