The paper concentrates on the development of an asymptotic method for solving the Cauchy problem for the two-dimensional Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equation with nonlocal nonlinearity. The method is based on the complex WKB-Maslov theory. The authors extend to two dimensions the results obtained in [\textit{A. Yu. Trifonov} and \textit{B. Trifonova}, Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Fiz., No. 2, 28--35 (2002; Zbl 1063.82540)] and [\textit{S. Bellucci} and \textit{A. Yu. Trifonov}, J. Phys. A, Math. Gen. 38, No. 7, L103--L114 (2005; Zbl 1113.82054)]. At the end of the paper two examples are shown.
