The authors of the paper under review obtain a quantitative verson of the classical Trotter theorem on approximation of \(C_0\) semigroups of operators. The result is applied to the study of the degree of convergence of the iterated Bernstein operators on the \(N\)-dimensional simplex to their limiting semigroup.
