Let \({\mathcal S}\), \({\mathcal S}^*(\alpha)\), and \({\mathcal K}(\alpha)\) be the usual classes of analytic functions on the unit disk \(U\) that are normalized univalent, starlike of order \(\alpha\) and convex of order \(\alpha\), respectively. In this paper the authors use the technique of convolution (Hadamard product), to prove that a conjecture due to Y.C. Kim in 1990 is true when \(f\) is starlike of order \(\alpha\) or convex of order \(\alpha\), respectively. Kim's conjecture is the following: Let \(0\leq \alpha<1\), \(\beta>1\). If \(f\) is a member of \({\mathcal S}\), or \({\mathcal S}^*(\alpha)\), or \({\mathcal K}(\alpha)\), then the function \(\phi(3,3+\beta;z)*f(z)\) belongs to the same class. Here \(\phi(a,c;z)\) is the incomplete beta function.
